The Reef Octopus BioChurn Biopellet Reactor series takes a new approach to efficiently fluidizing the biopellet media without blasting it with direct flow pressure. The unique motion produced by these innovative reactors allows for much greater suspension of the media in a cyclone "churn" style, created by their patent-pending churn plate. 

The Reef Octopus in-sump BioChurn Reactors feature an Aquatrance pump that feeds the reactor and disperses the media into suspension. These models are ideal for those who want a simple, easy-to-use, and maintain reactor. The cascading design allows for greater surface area for bacteria to colonize, while the delicate churn motion of the pellets ensures extended contact time between the nutrient-rich aquarium water and the biopellet media.
